This policy explains how BitShack handles personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 4 of 2013 (POPIA) of South Africa. We take your privacy seriously and collect as little data as possible.
1. Who we are
BitShack is a South African software platform that hosts free Progressive Web Apps for businesses. For purposes of POPIA, BitShack is the Responsible Party for personal information collected through this website (bitshack.co.za).

2. What information we collect
On bitshack.co.za (this site):
- Email address — only if you voluntarily submit our "notify me" form. Used solely to notify you of new app launches. Never sold or shared.
- Browser localStorage — a single flag (
bs-toast) is stored locally on your device to remember if you dismissed the iOS install prompt. This stays on your device and is never transmitted to us. - No cookies are set by this site by default. If Google Analytics is active, Google's standard analytics cookies apply — see Google's Privacy Policy.
Individual apps (fitvoice.bitshack.co.za, guard.bitshack.co.za, etc.):
Each app is a separate service and may collect additional information (such as business details, client information, or order data). Each app operates under its own terms and privacy practices. Please review the relevant app's privacy information when using it.
3. How we use your information
Email addresses collected via the notify form are used only to send you updates about new BitShack apps. We will not send marketing unrelated to BitShack, and you can unsubscribe at any time by contacting us.
4. Who we share your information with
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes. Your email may be processed by our form submission service (FormSubmit) solely for the purpose of delivering it to us. No other third-party data sharing occurs on this site.
5. Data retention
Email addresses collected for notifications are retained until you request removal. You can request deletion at any time by contacting us via WhatsApp or email.
6. Your rights under POPIA
You have the right to:
- Know what personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Object to the processing of your personal information
- Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator of South Africa at inforeg.org.za

BitShack is served over HTTPS. We take reasonable technical measures to protect any personal information we hold. No system is perfectly secure — if you have concerns, contact us immediately.
8. Children
BitShack is not directed at children under 18 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of BitShack after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
